It appears that whatever this is that’s going around has made a pit stop. All week my blood sugars have been really weird so I should have known something was up. It had been a while since my BG’s had dipped into the low 30’s and 40’s. Then all of a sudden it was happening everyday and sometimes twice a day. By Wednesday evening I was exhausted but figured it was from staying up late chit chatting with my little brother. Nope!

I was in denial all day yesterday and I don’t know why because I was dragging my butt. I was two hours late to work which should had been a clue too. I woke up this morning (two hours late again) with one eye closed shut with yucky stuff, sore throat and achy body. Oh No, I thought. I’m sick, dang shoot I might as well call the doctor today because the weekend is coming and who wants to wait until Monday? The weather here in Kansas City is supposed to be beautiful this weekend and it has been for the last coupleof days. I’m sure the weather is the ultimate culprit, well that and my little ones. No ones immune system can tolerate 10 degree weather one day and 60 degree weather the next.

So I grabbed my pair of “Just be happy I made it in today” khaki’s, my “I don’t iron this shirt because I’d rather be at home in my night shirt” black tee, my “They just look like house shoes but they really aint” clogs and my black “I don’t have any other clean socks” with a pink playboy bunny on them and headed out the door. Yeah it’s one of those type of days.

One the way out the door the doctors office called back to say he was calling me in a antibiotic and told me to get some Mucinex DM. I prefer that rather than telling me to come in, paying the co-pay and leaving with the same results. I usually get a sinus infection at least a couple of times a year. This winter I haven’t been sick at all hence the title of the post “But I was doing so good”.

So, after I leave work I’m headed to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and then here comes a weekend of heavy medicating. I hate being sick but I’m glad it happened this weekend and not next weekend (Valentine’s Day). My boyfriend says he has a few things planned for us for our first Valentine’s Day together. So I have to be ready. Medication here I come!
